The plus and minus signs ( + and – ) are mathematical symbols used to represent positive and negative concepts, as well as addition and subtraction operations. Their use has been extended to many other, more or less analogous, meanings. Plus and minus are Latin terms meaning „more” and „less” respectively.
The minus sign (+) is a mathematical sign used:
